Betsy Ulrich, D.D.S., M.S.
About
Dr. Betsy Ulrich earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University. Following dental school, she completed a two-year post-doctorate residency at Northwestern, earning her specialty certificate in orthodontics and a master’s degree. At Northwestern, Dr. Ulrich was named the Alpha Omega Scholar for attaining the highest academic standing in her class and received several other awards for outstanding achievement.
Dr. Ulrich opened Sugar Creek Orthodontics, P.C. in Lincoln in 2001 following an associateship with Dr. Richard Sikora in Normal, Illinois. She moved her Lincoln practice to its current location 2006 after completely renovating the building to create a spacious, comfortable office for her patients.
Dr. Ulrich is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. She is active in state and local outreach projects, having served as chairperson of the dental society’s Children’s Dental Health Month Committee. Dr. Ulrich served as President of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists for the term year 2016-17.
Dr. Ulrich was born and raised in Lincoln, where her father was a family physician for over 30 years. She attended college at the University of Kentucky and the University of Colorado where she earned her bachelor’s degree. After living in Chicago and completing their educations, Dr. Ulrich and her husband, Ron Tomczak, chose to settle in Central Illinois. They live in rural Logan County where they have embarked upon a long-term prairie and woodland restoration project on their family farm. Dr. Ulrich is an animal lover, enjoys gardening and loves to cook.
Dr. Ulrich and Ron have two children, Diane and Warren. Ron manages the practice. They have truly created a “family atmosphere” at Sugar Creek Orthodontics, P.C. and enjoy treating patients like family as well!
